FreeLunch & Learn Mini Webinar: Image of the Child
Welcome to our Lunch and Learn mini webinars! These are online community webinars that give you some effective strategies you can implement right away! Lunch and Learn webinars are only 30 minutes and are offered over the lunch hour of 12:30-1:00PM. Each month we will present a different topic that aims to enhance your knowledge and teaching practices as early childhood educators.
January 9, 2024: Image of the Child
How do you see children? Are they blank slates waiting for us to input knowledge? Are they to be protected and held to ensure their safety? Are they able to make choices and decisions on their own? Are they citizens of our community? Do they need hand-holding and scaffolding? These are all questions we ask ourselves, and answer, through how we engage with children, our expectations of them and how we respect children in their play. To say we see the image of the child as a mighty learner is one thing, it’s another to implement our beliefs into practice. Let’s explore different ways that we see children and how we can make the mindset shift to genuinely see the children as mighty learners!
