Passion for Play: Being Protectors of Play for Adults and Children

We have the research. We have the evidence. Let’s Play! This is about spreading the message of the importance of Play in the early years. Changing our mindsets. Following through with our beliefs of Play and what we KNOW is best for children. To do this, we explore the underlying feelings that come when we engage in Play. Play is more then just ‘something we do for fun’ but experiences that invoke deep  passions and form memories. Play drives us forward. Play calms the soul. Play inspires the mind. Play is Joy!

Get ready to be inspired, challenged and do some self-reflection, as I share my personal experiences, observations and beliefs on Play and Playfulness for adults and how this relates to early childhood environment. What does Play look like in our environments? What are our obstacles? How can we reach our potential and advocate for children’s right to Play? Let’s Inspire Play again!

Sunshine, Rainbows and Unicorn Farts: My Journey as an Early Childhood Educator

Yup! You read that right! This is the real story of an ‘accidental educator’, Me, and my journey from the beginning to now. I never thought I’d be an early childhood educator…I didn’t even like kids! But, somehow, by some wonderful twist of karma and fate, I ended up in this crazy, wonderful field where I can’t imagine doing anything else! Enjoying those days filled with sunshine and rainbows….and surviving through the days full of unicorn farts! Sit back, laugh, and move (ya we don’t sit the whole time), as I share my story and passion with you. My inspirations, my achievements and my struggles. From my first year of being tossed into a toddler classroom in Taiwan, to moving back to Canada and figuring out, ‘Wow! We definitely don’t get paid enough,’ to how I became a coach, consultant and ultimately a Protector of Play! And now, here I am…striving to inspire and motivate other passionate early childhood educators so they can join the super power group of Protectors of Play!
