Tina’s Story
Owner; Workshop Facilitator; ECE Coach & Play Advocate
Hola everyone! I’m Tina Geers, owner of Inspired Minds ECC Consulting Inc. More importantly, as I don’t refer to myself as an owner; I’m a Protector of Play, an Accidental Educator and an Advocate for Early Childhood Educators! Yes…with capitals! We are Professionals! If you like a more traditional title, I’m an early childhood coach and consultant with 20 years of experience as an educator, coach, mentor, facilitator, and pedagogical leader in childcare. My educational background includes a diploma in Early Learning and Child Care from GPRC, and I am currently completing my BA in Educational Studies in Early Learning at Ontario Tech University. I’m also the founder and president of the non-profit organization, Alberta Early Childhood Play Connection Network (AECPCN), a member of the World Forum Working Group on Play, and a member of IPA Canada and CCCF.
I’m outgoing with a very playful disposition and have a dynamic approach to supporting others and presenting topics that will keep you engaged and inspired. My goal is to walk alongside you on your professional learning journey as an early childhood educator by offering you continuous learning opportunities, resources, inspiration, and a community of inspiration (also referred to as a professional learning community) of dedicated early childhood educators who want to make a difference in their community!
My continuous learning sessions bridge the gap between theory and practice, offering hands-on activities and resources with a side link of brain research (my geeky side) all into one comprehensive and easy-to-follow session. I honestly believe that play is the foundation of early childhood experiences, and to help provide positive play opportunities for children, we must start with learning how to have fun ourselves when we learn! The smiles and laughter begins with you.
