What A Wonderful World! Culturally Diverse Practices in Child Care

The world is full of adventure, possibilities and play! Our children and families come to us with different play experiences, backgrounds, traditions, cultures and values. Learning and understanding how children see culture is an important part of being a citizen in our communities. In this session, we will take a look at how to bring in cultures, traditions and values into our early childhood programs through innovative, relevant and cultural sustainability means. From play experiences to our environments, to our connections with children, families and the community, let’s discuss how to create a sense of belonging through play!

Objectives:

1. Understand the diversity of culture in early learning programs
2. Identify how to include culture, traditions and diversity through play
3. Build connections with children, families and communities
