Designing Creative Block Spaces

Let’s Build! Children express their creativity and their perspective of the world around them in a variety of ways. One of the most popular play areas for this creative expression is in the block centre. In this play space, children become engineers, architects, urban planners, designers and more! Participants will learn the fundamental elements of a high-quality block area along with some fantastic activities ideas that can really challenge the young mind. Block play is for all ages and all stages – a place for every child to construct and put their ideas into a visual form. Have you ever tried adding socks or rolls of tape to this center? Help children develop social-emotional, physical, imaginative and cognitive skills as they explore this amazing play space in your classroom.
