The indigenous peoples have a rich culture and deep connection to their community and to this land. I am always intrigued by the traditions and perspectives of the indigenous peoples as I relate it to my own land based teachings and values. Understanding, respecting and valuing this deep rooted culture is only one step towards our individual journeys to truth and reconciliation. Connect with the peoples. Connect with the communities. Connect with the Land. The more we learn about the indigenous families and children in our care, the more we can help the children feel a sense of belonging.
