DESCRIPTION:Laughter and Learning with ABCs! Creating Joy Through Language and Literacy Play Experiences\nIt is one of the best moments we can experience with children ~ sitting down with them or lying under the shade of a tree and reading a book together! How often do we actually do this with children though? Language and literacy are much more than just reading a book a week\, practising writing skills and memorizing letters\, phonics and spelling. Oh no! There is way more enjoyment to be had with enhancing our love of language. So\, throw out those tracing pages\, flashcard phonic cards\, and teacher-led activities and let’s bring back playfulness in language learning! Join me as we explore a variety of activities that we can show children how much fun it is to listen\, talk\, read and write. Through children’s natural desire to understand the world around them and communicate with those in their lives\, we can create an environment that is filled with rich and robust opportunities to explore language and literacy! \nObjectives:\n\nDefine early language & literacy and the stages of development\nCreating a language-rich environment\nStrategies and play experiences to support best practices in language & literacy\n\nThings to Keep in Mind: \n\nRegistration closes 24 hours in advance!\nPD funding available to eligible participants.\nCertificate of participation will be available to registered participants.\nAll registered participants will have 30 days access to the webinar recording.\nThis workshop will be held online through the Zoom platform.\nYou will need access to a smartphone\, laptop\, tablet or computer with audio capabilities to join us.\nA link will be emailed to you 24 hours prior to the workshop.
