DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY\, IN-PERSON COMMUNITY WORKSHOP \nInspiring Curiosity to Play: Creating Provocations and Invitations to Play\n@Granville Bambini\, Edmonton West \nHow do we create an environment that extends on children’s natural curiosity and interests in the classroom? How can we introduce new ideas\, based on our observations and our understanding of possibilities for children? What activities can we do that promote play? Rooted in the emergent curriculum approach\, creating provocations and invitations are a part of how we can build an environment that stimulates curiosity\, exploration and encourage independent divergent and critical thinking. Instead of providing activities that focus on specific outcomes or learning skills\, we provide provocations to stimulate a wholistic approach to playful learning. In doing so\, we need to be responsive to the children’s interests\, extend their learning and inspire curiosity to explore. Learn how to showcase these amazing displays and invite deep thinking and deep play to stimulate and build upon your children’s interests and sense of wonder. \nOverview \n\nDefining Provocations to Play\nFoundations to Play Experiences\, Provocations & Invitations to Play\nInspirations and Reflections of Provocations & Invitations to Play\n\nJoin us for a small luncheon\, at Granville Bambini\, after the community workshop to discuss and connect with educators! Included in your ticket!\nThings to Keep in Mind: \n\nRegistration closes 48 hours in advance!\nPD Funding Available to eligible participants.\nCertificate of participation will be available to participants.\nNo refunds\, credits\, exchanges or substitutes. If you are unable to make the workshop and wish to send an alternative person\, 48 hours notice is required to transfer the registration.\nMinimum workshop size is 10 registrations. Maximum 30 registrations.\nIn the unlikely situation that Inspired Minds ECC Consulting Inc. needs to cancel the workshop\, we will give all registered participants 24 hour notice. Refunds or credits will be given to registered participants in these situations only.
